National Foreword
This Indian Standard (Part 3), which is identical with ISO 6579 : 1993 `Microbiology - General guidance on methods for the detection of Salmonella' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Food Microbiology Sectional Committee (FAD 46) and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.
