Revised National Standards for Pneumatic Tyres for Automotive Vehicles

BIS has revised the National Standards for Pneumatic Tyres for all categories of vehicles and following standards have been printed:

1. IS 15627: 2005 for Automotive Vehicles – Pneumatic Tyres for Two and

Three-Wheeled Motor Vehicles {Superseding IS 10914 (Pt.1):1991, IS 10914 (Pt.4):1992, IS 10914(Pt.5):1995, IS 11157:1984 and IS 12151:1987}

2. IS 15633: 2005 for Automotive Vehicles – Pneumatic Tyres for Passenger Car

Vehicles – Diagonal and Radial Ply {Superseding IS 10914 (Pt.1):1991, IS 10914 (Pt.3):1991, IS 10914(Pt.5):1995 and IS 12441(Pt.1):1995}

3. IS 15636: 2005 for Automotive Vehicles – Pneumatic Tyres for Commercial

Vehicles – Diagonal and Radial Ply {Superseding IS 10914 (Pt.1):1991, IS 10914 (Pt.2):1992 and IS 10914(Pt.5):1995}

The above Indian Standards can be purchased from Sales counters of BIS office nearest to you. These standards have been identified for mandatory certification by Govt. of India. In order to overcome the rush for application for BIS Standard Mark, manufacturers may like to immediately opt for BIS certification for the categories of tyres manufactured by their organization.
