RULES OF LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP

(FEES AND FACILITIES)

This Library provides free services as per Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Students and Govt. Organizations after due authentication from concerned institutions.

Three categories of Membership are available : Category `A', Category `B' and Category `C'. The salient features of these categories of Membership are as follows :

Category A :   It is an individual membership . Membership fee is Rs.500.00 per annum. Members under this category can only consult the publications in Library. No borrowing facility is available.  

Category B :    Membership fee is Rs. 10,000.00 (Rupees Ten thousand only) per annum. Initially an amount of Rs. 10,000.00 is also to be paid as refundable deposit. Members can borrow 2 standards or 2 books at a time in accordance with Library rules. Publications are issued on request made on organization letterhead only.

Category C :    Membership is open to Retired Personnel of the Bureau. Members are allowed to use the library for reference only, no borrowing is allowed. The annual fee is Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred only).

Note                 1.   Membership is valid for financial year from April to March.

2.      Demand Draft should be paid in favour of Bureau of Indian Standards.

3.     Members can consult our Libraries in Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai in addition to the Headquarters Library at Delhi. However, borrowing shall be only from the Headquarters Library.

4.   The Library shall be open to readers on all working days from 0930h to 1630h.(Monday-Friday)
